What is an Echo Tech?

Are you a skilled Echo Technologist with a passion for providing high-quality cardiac imaging services? As a Travel Echo Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work in various healthcare facilities, performing echocardiograms to assess and diagnose cardiac conditions. This role requires a technologist who is detail-oriented, has excellent communication skills, and can ensure patient comfort during procedures.

To be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an Echo Technologist, hold an active certification (RDCS or RCS) from the ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography), and possess a valid state license or registration. Additional certifications and experience in various echocardiography modalities are highly desired.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing echocardiograms and related cardiac imaging studies
  • Preparing patients for procedures and explaining the process to alleviate anxiety
  • Operating ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images of the heart and related structures
  • Analyzing and interpreting echocardiographic images to identify abnormalities or cardiac pathologies
  • Collaborating with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information
  • Documenting patient information accurately and maintaining medical records
  • Ensuring proper functioning and safety of ultrasound equipment
  • Following safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work environment
  • Providing education and support to patients regarding the echocardiography procedure.

Common Echo Technologist Responsibilities:

  • Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE)
  • Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
  • Stress echocardiography
  • Dobutamine stress echocardiography
  • 3D and 4D echocardiography
  • Contrast-enhanced echocardiography.
