What is a X-Ray Tech (General)?
Are you a skilled General X-ray Technologist looking for new opportunities to provide diagnostic imaging services? As a Travel General X-ray Technologist, you will have the chance to work in various healthcare settings, performing a wide range of X-ray examinations to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires a technologist who is proficient in general radiographic procedures, has strong technical skills, and can ensure patient comfort and safety during imaging procedures.
To be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an X-ray Technologist, hold an active certification (ARRT) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and possess a valid state license or registration. Additionally, experience with various X-ray equipment and imaging techniques is highly desired.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing and positioning patients for X-ray examinations, ensuring their comfort and safety
- Operating X-ray equipment and adjusting exposure settings to obtain high-quality images
- Assisting patients during imaging procedures and providing clear instructions
- Collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely image acquisition
- Documenting patient information accurately and maintaining medical records
- Following safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Providing education and support to patients regarding the imaging process.
Common General X-ray Technologist Responsibilities:
- Performing X-ray examinations of various body parts, including chest, abdomen, extremities, and spine
- Assisting with fluoroscopy procedures
- Conducting portable X-rays at patients’ bedsides
- Utilizing proper radiation protection measures
- Ensuring proper functioning and maintenance of X-ray equipment.
