Are you a registered nurse with a passion for providing care in fast-paced environments? As a Travel Emergency Room RN, you will have the opportunity to bring your expertise to a variety of emergency departments, making a positive impact on patients’ lives in their time of need. This role is ideal for a nurse who is comfortable working under pressure, has exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and can adapt to changing situations with ease.
To be eligible for this position, you must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency room setting, hold an active RN license in good standing, and have certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, and others as required by the facility. ER nursing experience and certifications such as the TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) are highly desired.
As a Travel Emergency Room RN, your responsibilities will include:
Providing life-saving care to patients in their time of need, including those with traumatic injuries and acute illnesses
Assessing patients quickly and accurately, determining the severity of their condition and prioritizing their care
Administering medications, performing advanced interventions, and managing complex medical equipment
Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide efficient and effective patient care
Documenting patient information and updating medical records
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Participating in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education opportunities
Providing education and support to patients and their families in a high-stress environment
Common Emergency Room Procedures:
Management of conditions such as heart attacks, strokes, and traumatic injuries
Administration of life-saving interventions such as advanced airway management, administration of thrombolytic therapy, and wound management
Rapid assessment and stabilization of patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions
Coordination of care with other departments, such as radiology, laboratory, and critical care, as needed
